Cisco AS5300 - Password Recovery Procedure

1. Establish a Console Session with the router.
2. If you can access the router, type **show version** and record the configuration register (**0x2102**)
3. Use the power switch in order to turn off and then turn the router back on. Press Break on the terminal keyboard within 60 seconds of power up in order to put the router into ROMMON. ( Heyber Terminal: **Ctrl+break** , minicom: **Ctrl-a f** )
4. Type **confreg 0x2142** at the rommon 1> prompt in order to boot from Flash. 
5. Type **reset** at the rommon 2> prompt.
6. Press **Ctrl-C** in order to skip the initial setup procedure.
7. Type **enable** at the Router> prompt.
8. Type **copy startup-config running-config** in order to copy the nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM) into memory.
9. Now you can **change passwords** and issue **no shutdown** for every interface
10. Type config-register <configuration_register_setting>. (**config-register 0x2102**)
11. Press **Ctrl-z** or end in order to leave the configuration mode.
12. Type **copy running-config startup-config** in order to commit the changes.
